About Me

Hi i'm Abby, I am Freshman at Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts. I am studying hospitality management . I am originally from Bethany, CT a small farm town located near New Haven, CT.

One thing that you will always see on me is a smile, with a smile is happiness and I love making people happy. I have been in Girl Scouts for 13 years, I enjoy being a leader and showing others how you can make a difference in the world. One way I make a difference is by having peoples dreams come true in a event.

Since I was little I always wanted to be a baker, from there I was interested in photography. I then noticed that I was always planning the next thing so I wanted a way I could combine all three of these things. Then I thought about event planning. At this time I was about 11 and in sixth grade. I remember for my 6th grade graduation I wanted a candy land themed party. So about 4 months before graduation I started to plan out everything, from the food, party favors, and decorations. For me detail is key. Some thing I always say is that "if you give me 2 colors, or a color and a design I can plan a whole event around that".

For me I love being able to be creative and share my talents with people, which in the end they will be happy.  I was able to get this feeling a couple years ago. In 2016 I had the opportunity to do my teachers centerpieces for her wedding at the Madison Beach Hotel in Madison, CT. Through this experience I had learned that I enjoy designing the different aspects of a wedding, or an event.

This year at my college I was on a committee of nine and we put together a Relay For Life event which is partnered with the American Cancer Society. We had less then 6 months and were given a budget 2 months in. We put this event on April 8th and we had over 150 participants and raised over $16,000. I was in charge of all 23 teams and coordinating meetings with team captains, I was also in charge of the Survivor Lunch which had 25 survivors and was catered by a local caterer. This event taught me that if you truly have a dream, which our president did. Then your dream can truly become your event.
